It was the weekend and I had managed to steal a few hours away from family time. My wife had signed my permission slip and a bike ride had been planned!
Not just any old bike ride though – a bike ride into the middle of nowhere on my new Pinnacle Arkose X Gravel Bike. The plan was to test it on all sorts of surfaces and terrains and the plan was executed beautifully.
The Scottish winter obliged and threw in some snow, gravel, mud, and plenty of water. A perfect setting to test out the bike in preparation for its maiden Bikepacking voyage at the end of this month.
My new GoPro, spare batteries, and various adapters were packed and off I went into the sunny, but deceptively cold, Scottish afternoon.
I visit an old castle / ruin, I meet 3 people with bows and arrows in the middle of the woods, and I discover a favourite mountain bike trail of mine has had some major adjustments…
